Welcome to SPTechCon!

I'm David Rubinstein, technical chairman of BZ Media's newest conference, SPTechCon, The SharePoint Technology Conference, being held Jan. 27-29 in Burlingame, Calif. We're excited to add this event to our successful lineup of conferences, which includes the Software Test & Performance Conference and the Java-centric EclipseWorld.

SPTechCon will bring together the most knowledgeable people in the SharePoint universe to offer instruction, tips and tricks for getting the most out of a SharePoint installation. The conference isn't for another five months, but we've already received about 30 proposals for sessions, and we're pulling out the best ones to make this the most important SharePoint conference available to users. Microsoft's Tom Rizzo, who's Director of SharePoint Server there, will offer the opening keynote address on that Wednesday.

Even with all the classes, we're trying to leave open a couple of periods each day for social close encounters (of the face-to-face kind), where attendees can compares notes on the sessions they attended and trade thoughts and ideas about SharePoint.

Registration for the conference is now open, with discounted rates for early-bird signups.

I'll be updating the blog often between now and the conference, so check back often for more detail on classes and speakers, and let us know if there's a particular session you'd be interested in attending. We're putting the program together now, so your ideas will most definitely be considered!

So, California, here we come! Hope to see you there!
